Winter is the best time to catch Thailand’s flowers in full bloom, but not everybody has the chance to travel up North to gaze upon their beauty—which is where the Floral Coral Flower Exhibition at Dasada Gallery (179 Moo 12, Prachine-Khaoyai Rd., Nernhom, Muang, Prachinburi, 090-198-7583, www.dasada-happiness.com) comes in. This giant glasshouse, set against the backdrop of Khao Yai’s greenery, is ideal for Bangkokians who can only spare a one or two-day break. Now in its eighth year, the current exhibition takes its inspiration from the ocean. The exhibition runs until Feb 17 but is broken up into three periods. From Dec 5-22, the “Flower Ocean” exhibition sees plants themed according to corals and marine creatures. During Dec 23-Jan 31, Dasada celebrates the festive season with an “Underwater Christmas” theme and it all ends with the “Pink Ocean” flower exhibition to celebrate the month of love during Feb 1-17.
