After a one-year absence, Thailand International Balloon Festival will return to the skies above Chiang Mai for the 10th time this Mar 2-4

While actual balloon rides are off-limits to the public, organizers are touting a new “night glow” spectacle set to the backdrop of Doi Suthep and music from the the Lanna Orchestra and the Tiger Drum and Opera for dramatic effect.

Other musicians set to appear include German opera singer Thomas Kiessling and local singer Pe’ Kamonporn, who'll perform La Vie En Rose as a duet. Art workshops, tons of food and a coffee carnival complete the festivities on the ground.

The event will take place at Cowboy Army Riding Club. Entrance is B300/day per adults and B100 for kids seven to 12 years. See www.fb.com/thailandballoonfestival
