Skip straight to the mouthwatering desserts.

Taking up charming digs in the crumbling streets of Phuket’s Old Town, Yaowarat 42 is the latest in a line of hip cafes putting a fresh spin on Chinese tradition.

Polished concrete floors, whitewashed walls, earthy furnishings and dangling lightbulbs give this classic Chinese-style shop-house a casual, day-friendly feel.

The menu, too, goes in for easy cafe bites like baked goods that star Thai staple ingredients, like the explosive coconut lava cake (B75), pandan caramel custard (B85) and caramel banana “monster” cake (B75).

Aside from your regular coffee, drinks lean towards refreshing, fruity flavors—iced lemongrass with honey (B75), Bloody Berry smoothie (B95) and mango soda (B85).

If still hungry, there's also a small menu of Thai bites available for both lunch and dinner.
