A familiar site is reborn.

In the heart of Chanthaburi’s increasingly popular old community, Chantabun, lies the new riverside restaurant and guesthouse Samrab Chan (039-460-359).

Nestled in the crumbling old house on whose wall is painted the town’s Cuban-style “Floridita” mural, right opposite the grand Maephra Patisonti Niramon Catholic Church, Samrab Chan delivers Chanthaburi favorites including pad Thai sen chan (stir-fried noodle, B75) and moo chamuang (pork curry with garcinia cowa leaves, B120) as well as gai pad krawan (stirfried chicken with cardamom and herbs, B120).

The second floor is home to the accommodation, including the master bedroom which looks out over the church and the river. Room rates start at B800.
