The Unico Group recently unveiled its newest property on Cha Am Beach, Unico Grand Sandara (241 Ruamchit Rd., Cha Am, Petchaburi, 032 470 777, www.unicograndsandara.com). The hotel is across the road from the beach and promises affordable stays in its 122 guestrooms divided up into four room types (22 to 120 sq meters) set in two wings separated by a long, narrow swimming pool. Rates start from B2,040 with breakfast, for early birds who book at least seven days in advance. The pool access rooms (from B2,550) seem to be the nicest choice, though.
