Boutique hotel the Sala Rattanakosin is now open on the eastern bank of the legendary Chao Phraya River, across from the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun).

The place has 17 guest rooms, most with clear views of the river. Plus, there’s a rooftop bar serving beer, cocktails, wines and light snacks as well as an on-premise restaurant helmed by English executive chef Tony Wrigley.

Also on offer are excursions such as shopping and nightlife tours, river cruises, visits to temples and historical sites and walks around Chinatown, flower markets and other local attractions.
