New AirAsia Japan flights were launched on August 1 to fresh destinations Fukuoka and Sapporo.

Low-cost carrier AirAsia Japan commenced flights between Tokyo and the Japanese cities of Fukuoka and Sapporo on August 1. Tickets for the former cost around JPY10,360 ($164) return and the latter go for JPY10,250 ($162) return.

The inaugural flight to Fukuoka took off at 7am with a flight load of 80 percent, while the inaugural flight to Sapporo took off with a total of 157 guests on board.

These new flights bring the Japanese airline’s operations tally to two aircraft, 243 staff and three domestic routes.

To get to the Land of the Rising Sun, AirAsia flies from Singapore to Tokyo twice daily via Kuala Lumpur. Fares start at $438 return.
