Seems like the flood made domestic travel hot again. Maybe that’s why the new opening destinations for airlines this season have turned out to be domestic routes. Either way, Nok Air (www.nokair.com) has just started flying from Suvarnabhumi Airport (its temporary hub until end of Jan) to Nakhon Phanom. There’s only one daily flight for now, leaving at 1:50pm. Prices are from B2,133 per trip.

Starting from Jan 15, rival AirAsia (www.airasia.com) will start operating daily flights from Suvarnabhumi to Trang, and its offer of peaceful islands, with prices as low as B990 per trip. Don’t worry about getting stuck with a red-eye; the flight time is quite good too, leaving the airport at 9:40am.
