Your trips to Singapore are no longer restricted to cocktail bars and tapas joints. We have just found a 17-hectare private island resort which recently opened in March this year.
Nine kilometers off the coast of Bintan, Cempedak Island is an adults-only resort surrounded by white sandy beaches and a rainforest, built by the same people as Nikoi Private Island, a popular escape for Singaporeans.
Vaulted ceilings, electric fans and no room keys give each villa a true barefoot luxury vibe, as do the spacious alcoves and bamboo walls—blending with nature and letting in the breeze.
The resort features 20 one-bedroom pool villas generously spaced out along the southern half of the island for complete seclusion.
Measuring 150sqm, each two-story villa comes with an ensuite bathroom, private balcony, open-air deck, private plunge pool equipped with sun loungers, bar and second bathroom.
Prices start from SGD450++/night (around B11,000), with daily board meals at SGD95 (B2,338) and based around seasonal Bintan produce.
To get there, take a ferry from Singapore's Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. See the map of how to get there
