Hyatt Regency Hua Hin recently unveiled its sister venue, The Wave Beach Club (www.thewavebeachclub.com), Hua Hin's first serious beach club. Located just steps away from the ocean, the club lets you enjoy quality cocktails on one of the crisp white sunbeds while listening to house beats during the day. When the sun sets on the weekends, the venue also functions as a restaurant with live music on Friday and Saturday night. The menu ranges from snacks like The Wave Beach Slider burgers (B360) to the sharing tapas platter (B350). The entry price of B700 gets you B500 credit for food and beverage

2. New Pet Cafes

Shiba Inus are adorable husky-like dogs from Japan with permanently smiling faces, and the founder of Hua Hin's new Inu Cafe (www.fb.com/inucafehuahin) owns 12 of them—all of whom customers get to play with when they visit. The menu features fuss-free Thai and Western dishes, including the Yogen Burger (a regular burger with melted cheese to make for a lava center, B199) while the drinks is all about juices and sodas. Not a dog person? The town's got a new cat cafe too, D Cat Cafe (www.fb.com/DCatcafe), where seven furry pedigrees rub up to customers as they enjoy cheap and cheerful afe food.

3. Evason Hua Hin's Raw Food Classes

Recently added to the health-and-wellness-focused list of activities at the luxurious Evason Hua Ein are “raw food” coursescourtesy of US cooking school Matthew Kenney CulinaryAside from the cuisine, which is 100-percent vegan and if “cooked” only at low temperatures, what makes the classes really unique is the standard of instruction and the equipment—professional chefs come from around the world to study for weeks and months here, but there are also one- and two-day classes where civilians like us can learn more about “plant-based” diets. Rates start at B5,000 for a standard Evason Room. One day courses are B8,000. (It’s not necessary to stay at the resort to enroll in the classes.) www.evasonresorts.com/huahin
