3 swoon-worthy getaways for Valentine's Day
If you're not forever alone, here's what you can do.
Singles Awareness Day (SAD) is an especially sensitive time, and if you're one of the lucky few who happens to have a hot squeeze come Feb 14, do us a favor and get out of town. Here are three beachy spots to book your V-Day vacay.
The Banyan Tree Hotel is offering a castaway experience, called the Sense of Romance & Spirit of Adventure package, to Bird island. From Feb 1-28, couples who stay a minimum of four nights at the resort get to spend their fifth night on Bird Island. The package covers flight, accommodation, meals and round trip transfers. The island is a 30-minute flight from Mahe with gorgeous white beaches. You can go snorkeling and check out the island's program to protect its sea turtles. Prices start from $4,493 for an Ocean View Pool Villa or $5,457 for a Beachfront Pool Villa.
We've previously featured the sexy new treehouses at Nihiwatu Resort in Sumba. The hotel has launched a Nihi Oka Spa Safari where couples can chill out among private beaches and rice paddies. The package also has a romantic picnic and dinner at the resort's restaurant, Ombak, which serves Indonesian and Western food. You also have the option to dine in your villa and do yoga (of course). The package is available from Feb 12-15, and includes return flights from Bali and Nihiwatu. Prices start at $863.67 per night for a couple, with a minimum stay of three nights.
Couples who stay at the Angsana Velavaru in February can choose from one of five special extras, including but not limited to a cocktail or cooking class, a bottle of sparkling wine, for every day of your stay. There are many villas to choose from, but our pick is the Inoncean Sunrise villa, with one hammock suspended over the ocean and a private plunge pool. Apart from this, couples can also kite surf, dive, water ski, among other outdoor activities. Prices start at $717 per night.
