Now you can have a different cake (and eat it) every weekend for the next month
Marina Square is about to be hit by a major sugar high
Happy start of July! The month is packed with a dizzying number of things to do, see and eat, and the icing on the cake is exactly that—a cake extravaganza that’s sure to send your blood sugar racing. From Jul 14-Aug 26, Marina Square is organizing a non-exclusive dessert club; and everyone’s welcome. Cake Club is seven whole weekends of cakes, cookies, and other chocolatey goodies, to showcase the best of Singapore’s desserts industry to hungry sweet tooths.
To set the record straight, it isn’t exactly a club; more so an open invitation to foodies looking for new sweets to try this month. A new initiative of Marina Square’s Foodiegram Sundays rewards program, Cake Club draws from the campaign’s aims of giving back to diners with budget-friendly set meals at participating restaurants in the mall.
The highlight of the event is Cake Bar, a pop-up retail mart that rotates over the seven weekends some of the best bakeries and cake shops in Singapore. Here you can browse and purchase cakes on the spot, choosing from a premium selection that includes local favorites like Bloomsbury Bakers (think orh nee cakes), The Patissier, Creme Maison, O’ Coffee Club, and even The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. For aspiring bakers, look forward to dessert workshops spearheaded by the likes of Yume Patisserie (Korean buttercream flower-piping) and Susucre (fondant cupcake decoration).
And it’s not just sweet treats to eat at Cake Club. After you’ve indulged, you can take part in the interactive activities and photo opps created just for the event—like being the cover star of your own dessert magazine.
Cake Club is happening every weekend from Jul 14-Aug 26 at #03-03, Marina Square Glasshouse. Admission is free and more information here.
