Wake up; September has ended. As the month comes to a close, so do a host of great exhibitions along with our favorite indie carpark bar The Great Escape. If you aren’t keen on spending every day of your weekend at Golden Mile Tower, there are still a ton of parties and films to catch around the island.

PARTY
It’s one last Kampong Boogie before The Great Escape closes for good, so you definitely don’t want to miss the line-up of Golden Mile all-stars: DJ Joshua P, Ulysses, DJ KFC, FUNK BSTRD, plus MC SWTLKR of Love International. Sep 28

FILM
The Glory Hoes are restoring true glory to 1998 cult classic 54, a drama film about the New York City discotheque Studio 54 that many felt was undeservingly edited down. For the first time in Singapore, catch the raw, gritty Director’s Cut—a “kind of lost gay cinema classic” that received much better reviews. Sep 28

PARTY
Social commerce and music company Vinyl Of The Day is launching their first-ever brick-and-mortar venture: White Label, a funky record store cum bar for all music nerds and vinyl fans. At the opening party, grab a beer (it’s free-flow from 7-8pm) and dance to sets from FUNK BSTRD, Ramesh and Jema. Sep 28

EXHIBITION
The dreamy pastel-hued shots of our city come to life in an exclusive exhibition by Nguan of his latest photobook, Singapore (2017), as part of the annual Singapore International Photography Festival. Get up close and personal with the homegrown photographer himself (who rarely takes interviews) at a book signing on opening day. Through Sep 28

FILM
The second Malaysian Film Festival is happening at The Arts House once again to celebrate the very best of Malaysian cinema, here in Singapore, where action, horror and plenty of drama await. Sep 28-30

The tale of Peter Pan gets an 1880s Singapore remix, in Pangdemonium’s adaptation of Peter and the Starcatcher. Come watch the all-star cast bring to life the prequel in song and dance, and decide for yourself if Southeast Asia makes a worthy Neverland. Sep 28-Oct 20

FOOD
Meat lovers, your time has come. The Carvery's notorious Great Meat Feast is back and it's positively drool-worthy. Unlike last year (where spread included other meats like pork), this year's feast will mainly feature premium beef. Sep 28-Oct 21

TOUR
Dust off your scaredy-pants, because the eighth edition of Halloween Horror Nights is here and ready to terrify. Come face to face with Demogorgons, Pontianaks, and other chilling Asian ghosts, as Universal Studios Singapore is once again transformed into the creepiest place in the region. Sep 28-Oct 31

FOOD
Shiok Shack is taking over Jekyll & Hyde for a day for a gastronomical burger pop-up. Load up on cheeseburgers, cheese fries and buns with a Singaporean twist, then sip on one-of-a-kind cocktails  from the mixology maestros at Jekyll & Hyde. Sep 29

DRINK
The inaugural Sake Matsuri at UE Square will have over 200 labels of sake, plus small-batch bottles of craft sake for your tasting pleasure. Alongside masterclasses and brewery spotlight sessions, more than 50 breweries will be present, so bring a high alcohol tolerance. Sep 29

After a mysterious hiatus the Farmers Market at Loewen Gardens is back, now with a separate day and night session. In the day, pick up the same great organic produce and coffees from the usual market vendors; night time calls for small-batch wines, craft beers and chilled music to accompany your shopping. Sep 29

THEATER
Opera singer Florence Foster Jenkins' heartwarming story about her tone-deaf oblivion takes to the local stage with Sing'theatre's production of Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins. Bring earplugs, just in case. Through Sep 29 

EXHIBITION
Before It All Goes: Architecture from Singapore’s Early Independence Years is local photographer Darren Soh's latest solo exhibition, which showcases his long-term documentation of sites in Singapore slated to disappear, or that already have. Through Sep 29

Forget the tourist attractions, indulge in our national pastime and taste over 30 signature and new dishes by award-winning and Michelin-starred restaurants at Resorts World Sentosa’s annual Great Food Festival, where fine foods and a new Wine Cellar segment await. Through Sep 30

Have you heard? The Great Escape is closing, but not without one last shebang that includes a participatory memorial for the public to leave a piece of themselves with the place. Craft purveyor The General Co and and Scottish whiskey distillery Balvenie have partnered up for an epic four-weekend pop-up of crafts workshops, supper club dinners, indie film screenings and more. At the Balvenie House of Craft, you can also get stellar drinks at the pop-up bar by guest mixologists from the likes of Junior and Manhattan. Through Sep 30

EXHIBITION
Dutch artist Theo Jansen is sending his prized Strandbeests to our shores. In fact entirely non-living, his world-renowned creatures made of PVC and wood are powered by wind, and spend their days moving gracefully across beaches (hence their name, which translates to “beach animal” in Dutch). Head to the ArtScience Museum for an exclusive look at this new species, where you can look at “fossils” of past beests, and even walk alongside 13 original Strandbeests. Through Sep 30

FILM
In partnership with the Singapore Film Society, the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) Film Festival is screening six films from around the world to raise awareness for persons with intellectual disability (PWIDs). An added highlight, two original shorts commissioned by MINDS and produced by Royston Tan’s Chuan Pictures will have their premiere, and be screened before the start of the six films.
