Sip beer, meet craft brewers, and engage in drunken debates.

Either by chance or design, two political parties are hosting beer events at their headquarters this weekend.

With hopes to loosen alcohol laws and woo brewers and booze lovers, the two parties—long-time supporters the Move Forward Party and the newcomer Kla Party—are inviting the public to join in their respective events.

On Aug 27, Kla Party is hosting the Suk-uRa-Thai, a Thai word for happiness and a pun on sura (alcohol), which will gather both new and old faces from Thailand’s alcohol scene. Here, they also promise to bring over 10 local liquor brands from across the country for skillful bartenders to mix. Free entry. Map: here

Then on Aug 28 the Move Forward Party is also holding its B.A.D. Festival (Break all the Deadlocks)—no relation to BK Magazine’s B.A.D (Bangkok After Dark) awards. The event, with a mission to break all alcohol deadlocks, features an F&B market and concerts from local artists  B199 entry. Map: here
