Sexy robots meet flowers (maybe) at this upcoming exhibit
Unpacking Central Embassy's teaser for "Sorayama Spacepark."
A recent teaser sweeping Instagram states: "Sorayama Spacepark by AMKK at Central Embassy. Coming soon." Let's unpack that.
Japanese artist/self-proclaimed "entertainer" Hajime Sorayama is known for his drawings and sculptures of sexy robots. This wouldn't be the artist's first exhibition in Bangkok—in late 2017, Sorayama brought "Sawasdee Sexy Robot" to National Stadium's EchoOne Nanzuka, though the addition of AMKK switches things up.
AMKK (Azuma Makoto Kaju Kenkyusho) is an experimental botanical lab, where the traditional art of ikebana flower arrangement is reinvented in conceptual floristry, documented by photographer Shunsuke Shiinoki. They're known for their striking botanical creations that blur the boundary between art installation and floral display.
So, it seems we can expect some very sexy, futuristic flower arrangements in what will possibly be the coolest thing Central Embassy has ever done.
Whatever may be in store, it seems to be part of the fifth anniversary celebrations for Phloen Chit's luxury mall.
