Want to ditch fast fashion and make more eco-conscious clothing choices? Then head to The Commons Thonglor this Saturday, Feb 15, to attend Eco aWear: A Sustainable Fashion Event.

Gathering groups of local and international ethical fashion practitioners, the full-day event comprises a series of talks about sustainable fashion, as well as workshops, clothes swaps, activities and games.

Fashion Rethink will kick off the event with a block printing workshop, where you’ll get to learn how to upcycle your clothes into new fashionable items through traditional Indian woodblock printing. This will be followed by another arts and crafts workshop on how to repurpose old clothes into multi-functional plant holders using materials provided from leftover pieces from the clothes swap.

Speaking of clothes swaps, an afternoon session will be held for women and men, allowing you to declutter your wardrobe and exchange clothes you no longer wear with other guests.

Insightful discussions on how to make eco-conscious choices are also on the agenda. First up is “Creative Closet Talk” hosted by a seasoned stylist, who’ll offer tips and demonstrations on how to keep your wardrobe sustainable through effective styling and alterations, as well as discussing the impacts of personal fashion choices. Meanwhile, the students of Raffles International College Bangkok will share their advice on the best ways to lead a green lifestyle under the title “Green Knowledge: Cross-Generational Discussion on Sustainability.”

Various eco-friendly goods will also be on sale from brands like Dharma Bums TH, W’menswear, Mesh and Sasi Knits.

While walk-ins are welcome for all workshops and activities, advance booking is recommended.
