This Thursday May 2, Smalls' pop-up dining series welcomes La Bottega di Luca head chef Andrea Ortu, who'll serve up his Italian dishes like Piedmont Fassone beef tartar (B390), baby potatoes gnocchi with clams and sea asparagus (B350), as well as slow-cooked wagyu beef cheek in gravy dark chocolate glaze and celeriac mousse (B490). Cinco De Mayo: Ash Kickers Takeover Touche Hombre

Cinco De Mayo kicks off early on May 4 as Touche Hombre’s kitchen is taken over by the new-in-town barbecue experts from Ash Kickers Briskets & Bourbon, who'll be serving signature smoked meats with Mexican twists: think fall-off-the-bone beef short rib with mole sauce, juicy beef brisket chili verde enchiladas, smoked lobster tostada, and smoked beef brisket or smoked crispy pork belly tacos, just to name a few highlights. To drink, there’ll be smoked salt margaritas and tequila cocktails. Plus, free shots for those who turn up in Mexican costumes, games and live DJs. Tickets can be purchased for B500.

Cinco de Mayo Brunch Party!

Enjoy all your Mexican classic faves at Pesca Mar & Terra Bistro's Sunday brunch, from steamed Argentinian prawns to roasted tenderloin with chimichurri sauce to roasted suckling pig to ceviche to Mexican paella to quesadillas and loads of nachos, burritos, tacos and even a guacamole trolley. On May 11, chocolate-lovers can take part in Kad Kokoa's chocolate bar workshop with chef Remy Janicot that’ll have you cracking open fresh cocoa pods, learning about the fermentation process and tempering your own chocolate bars from 10am-12:30pm (B1,900 per person). This May 16-17, Le Normandie’s kitchen welcomes chef Maxime Gilbert from Hong Kong’s two-Michelin-star Écriture to join chef de cuisine Arnaud Dunand Sauthier and whip up a six-course set lunch menu (B4,800), flying in pigeon from France, and an eight-course dinner menu (B9,200), featuring Akamutsu fish from Yamaguchi, Japan and top grade Blackmore Australian beef, known for its juiciness and tenderness. For reservations, call 02-659-9000.

Portugal, the New Dawn EP. 8: Portuguese 2-Michelin Star Chef

Il Fumo’s back with their recurring Portuguese dinner series, this time collaborating with chef Ricardo Costa of Porto's two-Michelin-star The Yeatman on May 16-17. He'll join hands with Il Fumo’s chef-partner Amorim Nelson and chef Alexandre Ferreira from Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo do Douro-Lamego. There’ll be a total of seven courses covering "new Portuguese cuisine" priced at B5,400 per person with wine pairing an additional B1,400.
