Highlight: Wood and pipe dining table
The design reminds us of those plastic tables at fast-food shops with the seats attached. It’s a great fit for this cafe and car wash, which feels like a cross between an allday chill-out spot and somewhere to just sit and wait for your car to be ready. The use of wood and piping gives it a higher level of style, like a solid piece of furniture that could happily sit in your home.
Where to get it: The table is made to order. Try
Qiiid.com, where prices start from B9,500 for ready-made dining tables. Made-to-order price is subject to spec.
Highlight: Wooden daybed with emerald green cushions
Emerald green has dominated the fashion scene since last year. On furniture, the color hints back to the 60s and 70s, especially when matched with dark wood like on thischair. Bridge makes the style look contemporary thanks to its white-washed brick walls.
Where to get it: One of a Kind Nordic Vintage Furniture & Cafe, Rama 9 Soi 46 (opposite The Nine), 081-255-0033. Price TBA.
Highlight: Log stool
You don’t need to go straight for the Tolix replicas if you want a good bar stool (cough cough, Bitterman and Smokin’ Pug). The log stools at S’Mores are a little more original—pretty gentlemanly looking and easily adapted into book or TV stands, too.
Where to get it: Cast by 56th Studio has stools exactly like these starting from B6,000. 235/10 9-11 Sukhumvit Soi 31, 02-662-1593.

Highlight: Glass cabinet with wood edges
The item itself looks very mid-century, which makes it easy to blend with contemporary loft-style spaces. Use it to display your bags, shoes, accessories or collectibles.
Where to get it: Y50 has various retro cabinets similar to this one. Prices range from around B6,000 (for dark brown oak) to B13,000 for items above one meter tall or with more detail. Showroom at Ekkamai-Ramintra Rd., 081-373-0980.
Highlight: Ostrich skeleton
The genuine ostrich skeleton outside the recently opened Black Amber Thonglor Social Club adds a really exotic, Victorian curiosity shop vibe to this space which is otherwise dominated by wood and leather. Other curiosities like a creepy clown model and crocodile skull give the place some real attitude.
Where to get it: Nature Decoration, Jatuchak Plaza, Room 158-159 Zone B Soi 1, Kampheangphet 2 Rd., 085-108-2936. B48,000 for the ostrich skeleton.
Highlight: Round wooden table with stool set
This Isaan restaurant by a former partner of Somtum Der offers a choice of Western dining tables, Japanese-style low tables with cushions and quaint round tables with stools. We like the last option, especially for the home. The design is contemporary, like those marble tables at old Chinese restaurants but way cooler. It also takes up less space and is easy to match with other decor.
Where to get it: Casa Pagoda, Sukhumvit Soi 45, 02-258- 1917. B15,000 for the industrial round table.
65-67 Paholyothin Soi 7. 02-023-4521. Open Mon-Fri 11am-3pm, 5-10pm; Sat-Sun 11am-11pm. tinyurl.com/mx4r77b
