We’ve already seen lots of Thai celebs trying to find their niche in the global fashion scene. Now Pang-Kwankao Sawetwimol has joined the trend with her own brand. Her designs are inspired by the famous Edith Piaf song "La Vie en Rose" about a woman’s infatuation with her beloved. The collection makes contemporary references to 1940s culture with touches like high-waist pants and body contour dresses, while also incorporating roses in both the materials and cut. The palate is composed of austere colors such as black, white and beige interspersed with hints of pink, purple, orange and yellow. The collection’s debut is a bit late for Spring/Summer 2011, so it will serve instead as Kwankao’s preview collection. Autumn/Winter will be introduced in November along with her first shop’s grand opening at Siam Paragon. Now only available at Kwankao showroom, 113 Ladprao Soi 60, 02-539-3970. www.kwankao.com
