For those looking for more space and power, the all-new BMW X5 should get you dreaming. Now of course, this is a full-blown SUV, not a crossover. But with improvements in balance and fuel consumption (16.1km/liter), the BMW X5 xDrive30d is posing as a sensible choice for those who just can’t convince their significant other that the two kids and the dog will fit just fine into a Z4 convertible. Not that there’s anything particularly reasonable about a turbo-charged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine delivering 258hp. Alternatively, the slightly more efficient X5 sDrive25d comes with a 3.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 218hp and 17.9km/liter. Prices should come in under B7 million, with the first lot, limited to 10 cars (and leather seats in white only, for some reason), due to roll into town in February 2014.
