A little slice of Nova Scotia in Eastern Thailand.

The latest attraction to hit Chanthaburi province is this new resort themed after a Canadian fisherman’s village.

Sitting on Khung Wiman Beach, Peggy’s Cove Resort (039-460-345, www.peggyscoveresort.com) features brightly painted weatherboard cottages, rickety driftwood bridges and a lobby styled after the chapel at the real Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia.

Until Jul 15 they’re also offering two nights for the price of one, valid for stays through Nov 30. Room rates start at B6,500, while Deluxe Jacuzzi villas cost B6,500 and the Grand Deluxe Pool Villa Access B14,000.

To dine, you’ve got Coffee Cove for ice cream, smoothies and cakes, while next to it is the Lighthouse Bar & Grill, which serves seafood platters, pizzas and Chanthaburi’s famous stir-fried Chan noodle with soft-shell crab.

The resort is just one kilometer from the Nern Nang Phaya viewpoint which looks out on the province’s iconic curvy beach road.
