After year of operations, the one-of-a-kind art bookshop and hangout is shutting. But it's not going out without a good sale.

CEO Books is closing. The store, which opened in June last year, stood out among Bangkok's bookshops for its diverse selection of small-run art and design-focused publications from around the world, as well as its regular talks and book launches.

Ahead of the closure, starting today (Friday), the store is hosting a 10-day summer sale, offering 30-50-percent off all titles, which currently include back issues of the notorious Dutch Butt magazine, photo journal A Paris and also some rare gay manga produced here in Thailand, among more familiar names.

The store will remain open every day until May 3, after which it will hold more events through till June (more details TBA).

In more positive news, founder Chris Grisana says the store will eventually move to a bigger space, hopefully within the next four months. In the meantime, the CEO project will continue in various forms, including an upcoming installation about artist self-publishing.

The store is currently open Mon-Fri 12-7pm, Sat-Sun 12-5pm. Stay up-to-date at www.fb.com/ceobooks
