Ready to pop some tags? Here are a few places in Bangkok where you shop by weight, raid shipping containers, and dive into piles of clothes.

Shinjuku Outlet, Wangthonglang

Founded in 2015 and the biggest Shinjuku branch, this secondhand clothing store fills an entire building and is packed with vintage items. Each floor is well organized into different sections and this is one of the only big thrift stores where you can try before you buy. This is easy thrifting, as opposed to rifling through piles and haggling over prices. And here’s the kicker: you get charged by weight, starting at B30 per 100 grams.

Pattavikorn Market, Nawamin 72

Just jump in this big pile for vintage and secondhand digs; resellers here aren’t going to haggle. Most items here are fresh out of a bale which means you will get cheap (and sometimes rare) items. If you’re serious about thrifting, you’ll want a whole day in this market. The best time to be there is Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, when you can climb up a secondhand mountain of five-baht-per-piece glory. Prepare fast hands and sharp eyes to get the best deals.

Wanglang Market, Siriraj Pier

Bangkok’s oldest vintage and secondhand hand shops are behind Siriraj hospital through the small alleys hiding from the main walking street. You’ll find over 100 vendors along the way, so this is a place where you can go bumbling around Wanglang pier and enjoy the experience while hunting for vintage goods in hidden alleys. Take a fan for the heat, a strong bag, and, hey, if you don’t find what you’re looking for, at least you can grab some good street food.

Lucky Home, Samrong

If you're a lover of vintage furniture, old cameras, and home decor, this is the place for you. Located near Klong Toey port, this entire warehouse is filled with vintage cameras, mid-century furniture, and items imported from Japan in shipping containers every month. With every new drop, you will see a long line of people carrying baskets in front of the warehouse, especially vintage camera resellers. If you see furniture you like, this place provides a delivery service starting at B500. Take a taxi, go early, and take your time.

Pankan Society, Onnut 90

You can donate your old clothes, furniture, and books at this feel-good charity shop by the Yuvabad Dhana Foundation. If you’re having a clear out, you can donate for a good cause and pick up some items for yourself all at the same time. The shop has a friendly atmosphere and is a great place for the family to shop together. Thrifters who love kitchenware won't be disappointed. Profits from the store go to support children’s education. You’ll get a real “sharing is caring” vibe when you shop here.
