On a recent visit to spectacles store Glassaholic, we noticed, aside from the regular imported brands like Super and Paul Hueman, pairs of handcrafted wooden sunglasses lining the shelves, too. Turns out they come from Palo, a brand launched in Barcelona, Spain, in 2010, by product designer Enoc Armengol, who shot to fame for crafting such far-out items as edible bread furniture and origami folded chairs. Palo, which means wood stick in Spanish and Italian, is his project to show what nature has to offer the world of fashion. Hipsters will love that no two pairs of Palo sunglasses look the same as each central frame is hand-carved from a single piece of hardwood. The lens are either Carl-zeiss or Polaroid, too. Count B5,600-8,000, but trust us, you are not going to pay that price as optical stores here are always offering discounts.
