They're calling it the biggest in Southeast Asia.

Bangkok is about to welcome the largest Ikea in Southeast Asia.

Those tired of making the trek to Bangna can now make the slightly-less-arduous schlep to Bangyai across the river in Nonthaburi when the Swedish furniture and home accessories behemoth opens its second branch on Mar 15.

At 50,000 sq meters, the store next to Central Westgate is considerably bigger than the original Ikea in Bangna (around 44,000 sq meters). It will boast a total of 29 checkout stands across all three floors, and 1,900 parking spaces.

No trip to Ikea is complete without a visit to the canteen, and this one's promising a “branch exclusive” menu.

For those not driving, the easiest way to get there is to take the new MRT Purple Line to Bangyai Market Station.
