Forget Selfies, Thai Celebs are Now Going Crazy for 3D Figurines of Themselves—And You Can Too!
A new shop in Siam Square is making miniature figurines for celebrites, or whoever has a mere B4,500 to blow on a mini-me.
Me Limited Edition is a new 3D printing shop in Siam Square Soi 6 which gives you the chance to create a personalized figurine of yourself.
In just one month since opening, the store's figurines have already become the favorite playthings of Thai celebrities like Ploy Chavaporn, Ploy Cherman and Pancake Kemnij, appearing in many an Instagram and Facebook feed.
Unlike other mass-production model shops, though, Me Limited Edition only makes made-to-order self-models and will not sell celebrity figurines to fans due to copyright issues.
However, nothing's stopping you from creating your own "mini-me"—the shop has already taken some 50 orders from both celebs and common folk.
How to: Call 093-939-7525 to make a booking. The figure scan will take up to 15 minutes at the studio. Production and printing takes about 15 days.
Prices: Figurines start from B4,500 (6cm) and go up to B48,500 (30cm).
