And they specialize in raw tuna salads and Hawaiian craft beers.

We've made plenty of questionable decisions on Amoy Street, from scarfing decadently lardy hipster wonton noodles at Wanton Seng's Noodle Bar to having three drinks too many at Spiffy Dapper. But now there's a promising, healthy food option that we might actually go to.

Aloha Poke specializes in Hawaiian salad bowls (poke) that traditionally involve chopped raw ahi tuna and is popular among surfers. The idea has been brought to Singapore by , John Chen, Lee Yue Xian, Pal and Selene Ong, with Michael Yonathan, former chef at Capella, cooking . In addition to the traditional ahi tuna bowl, you can also do salmon or tofu. Toppings include stuff like white or brown rice, chia seeds, avocado and flying fish roe.

So if you don't feel like hitting the food center for lunch, choose from Lil’ Swell (a scoop of fish, $11.90), the Standard Nalu (two scoops for 15.90) or the Big Kahuna (three scoops for $19.90).

Decor wise, it's all beachy pastel colors, lots of natural light, potted plants and a big ol' salad bar. You'll feel like you just came in from a morning on the waves.

It's not all saintly and healthy, of course. They do craft beers ($13.90 each), many from Hawaii, including the Big Wave Golden Ale, Castaway IPA, and the Longboard lager. We've been told that the last one is a best seller.
