Voters, cast your ballots at these 3 election-themed cocktail and food parties
Elections got you confused? Vote for oysters instead.
Practice casting a ballot, or recover from the stress of doing it, at these three election weekend drinking parties.
While this week-long gin extravaganza by craft tonic water maker East Imperial isn't a play on the upcoming elections, you can still vote for your favorite G&T. 25 of Singapore's best bars, including places like Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall, Manhattan, Sugarhall, Antidote and The Library, have created twists on the classic gin and tonic (which you can also sample at the respective bars from Sep 6-12). You just have to take a selfie with your favorite G&T and Instagram it with the hashtags #GinJubilee2015 and #EastImperial to vote. Or, unlike in real life, you could just abstain and drink.
Cool Japanese izakaya Neon Pigeon is also hosting a cocktail election party (Sep 10) where you'll get to try three of their new creations for free—but only if you buy a cocktail for their current menu. And if your favorite drink makes it on the menu, you'll get a free drink the next time you go there.
New oyster-centric restaurant and bar Humpback is having their very own polling day (Sep 11) where you get to vote for your favorite Washington oysters on the menu. You'll get ballot sheets where you can vote between Kumamoto, Fat Bastard, Totten Inlet or Rocky Bay oysters that are all going for happy hour prices of $2-3. There's no minimum spend, so you can get as many or as little as you want.
