We just rounded up our favorite burgers in town, but here are three new options that may make the list next time.

Papa’s Kitchen

This new restaurant out in Pattanakarn specializes in Western comfort food. It’s run by Jim Moroney, who left his last burger partnership due to compromises in quality. The burgers here are certainly worth a try. Order the well-seasoned big cheeseburger, made with 150g of juicy, char-grilled Australian Angus beef (B215), topped with creamy melted cheddar. Also, check the Facebook page for the daily specials.

Pattanakarn 30, 02-318-6831. Open daily 11am-10pm

The Kitchen Table

W Bangkok’s stylish eatery recently rolled out the My Burger, My Style promotion that invites you to create your own personalized burger. With a wide array of toppings and patties (Australian beef, lamb and rosemary, tandoor chicken) available, we’re thinking you can make a pretty mean handful to suit your every whim. The price is a not-too-exorbitant B480 per person, while spending over B850 on food gets you free-flow signature cocktails from the bar.

W Bangkok, 108 Sathorn Rd., 02-344-4210. Open daily 6:30pm-10:30pm. BTS Chong Nonsi.

Jim’s Burgers & Beers

This new hangout spot in happening Ari puts the focus squarely on burgers and booze, with some fine German beers like Weihenstephan Hefeweissbier on tap. On to the main attraction, we like the idea of the signature Jim’s honey beef burger (B250), in which the patty is flavored with milk, cheese and honey, but the execution wasn’t quite there on our last visit; the patty a little dry. The owners are passionate about what they do, though, so we’ll definitely be back.

Ari Samphan Soi 3, 02-000-9598, 085-660-8880. Open Tue-Sun 6pm-midnight. BTS Ari.
