These eclairs are the weirdest in Bangkok
It’s National Chocolate Eclair Day!
It’s National Chocolate Eclair Day (Jun 22) in the States today, and these new offerings from the Peninsula might just be some of the weirdest in Bangkok.
They’re the work of the hotel’s new executive pastry chef, Nicolas Pelloie, who’s marked his arrival by creating seven flashy eclairs in unusual, Thai-influenced flavors of red bean, lychee, guava, Thai tea, butterfly pea, mulberry and mango-chili.
The results vary from delicious (guava) to down-right weird (mango chili). Those colors are no accident, either—they reflect the colors which go with each day of the week.
A box of all seven will set you back B760++, available at The Peninsula Boutique at the hotel itself, as well as at A Pop-Up Store at Siam Paragon, which lasts through till Sunday, Jun 26, and sits in front of Gourmet Market.
