City Hall's about to get a little cooler.

Anyone who has a sweet tooth, waffle craving, adores pancakes or loves fads will love this new brunch place opening in Purvis Street. Bonus points to the fact that it's a hip Lower East Side, New York City institution.

Clinton Street Baking Company (31 Purvis St.), by husband-and-wife team Neil Kleinberg and DeDe Lahman, is transplanting from their New York digs straight to Singapore. (We're not uniqely blessed, of course. They already have offshoots in Tokyo and Dubai.)

Come Saturday, the 60-seat outlet will be serving up American-style (and award-winning) pancakes, sandwiches (including po'boys), French toast, brunch-y egg dishes, buttermilk waffles with fried chicken and burgers.

While it may all seem like fad food to brunch-happy Singapore, there are reliable brunch staples ranging from eggs Benedict, omelets and pancakes with warm maple butter. The owners have also stated that the menu will be kept the same for their local outlet. But more than that, it's about time that we get some real (and authentic) American dishes including Huevos Rancheros and Southern Breakfast with cheese grits.

And remember, be prepared to queue.
