There seems to be a new trend where Japanese and Korean restaurant chains are imported to Bangkok as standalone (or almost standalone) institutions of a more elevated status. BonChon, Tudari and Rainbow Roll all come to mind. The big edge that Sha Raku (14 Sukhumvit Soi 23, 02664-0348) has over these guys, despite being a chain from Kyoto, is its non-mall location in a cool looking house on Sukhumvit Soi 23. Expect a standard Japanese menu: lots of sushi and sashimi, some grilled stuff and lots of sake and shochu cocktails. Stay tuned for the Open Door.
