Local gourmet food label The Providore opens a second outlet at the Grandstand's farmers' market and Pacific Marketplace rolls out five savory muffins to soothe those midday hunger pangs.

Gourmet food label The Providore will open their second outlet The Providore Deli & Bakery in two stages by mid-August. The deli will carry a range of cheese, charcuterie and antipasti, as well as dine-in and takeaway deli platters alongside sandwiches and the label's in-house offerings. Sharing the space is The Pat and Stick's ice cream stall, which is famous for their ice cream sandwiches. The bakery will open by mid-August and carry a range of European-style freshly-baked breads and pastries.

Meanwhile, Pan Pacific's Pacific Marketplace has rolled out an interesting range of five savory muffins ($5-7 each) with flavors like Chicken Run made with chicken, rice wine and garlic chives; The Hulk, a vegetarian muffin with creamy mushrooms and a spinach crust; and (our personal favorite) Krrish, an Indian-inspired curry potato muffin simmered with classic Indian spices.
