Chenin is Phrom Phong's multi-leveled establishment that combines a wine bar and a la carte dining with, more intriguingly, a place where some of the best chefs in the world stay for a week or more. This time, they’re welcoming Jeffrey Claudio and his team from Stoke, Kreuzberg Berlin, which includes Jessica Tan and Niklas Harmsen.
A member of the Stoke team, Jeffrey Claudio was head chef at the renowned Burnt Ends Singapore and has worked alongside Danny Calvert (Sezane, Tokyo) and James Henry (Le Doyenne, France) for the opening of Belon HK. He has been a resident at Yardbird HK with Matt Abergel. Jessica Tan has spent most of her time at the Ralea Group in Copenhagen. The team will be cooking up a wood-fired yakitori tasting menu at the chef's counter from Friday to Monday until the end of November.
Chenin Chef Counter is brought to you by the former Asoke Pi Shop team, they’ve recently hit a milestone, having hosted 40 chefs from 20 different countries and 15 different countries at their 12-seater open wood-fire kitchen counter on the 4th floor with 12 seats.
Former Chenin Chef Counter guests include Sota Atsumi, one of the most talked about Parisian chefs, Kobe Desramault, renowned for his 2 Michelin-starred restaurant In de Wulf in Dranouter, Brian Baxter from the legendary restaurant Catbird, Joel Ahlin, the founder of Agrikulture Stockholm with a coveted Michelin star, Esteban Lenzi, a young chef who has worked in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the Latin American world.
