Bangkok’s dining landscape continues to get more and more exciting, and this month Maison Hotel Bangkok’s flagship restaurant, Naa, is upping its game with a new concept: Thai Twisted Cuisine. The new menu and concept reimagine traditional dishes with creative interpretations and platings, aiming to attract both local residents and international visitors. The crab fried rice, for example, fuses the restaurant’s signature fried rice with imported Japanese crab fat and serves the dish in a clay pot to keep it warm and add a tinge of traditional appearance. This is all capped off by the lighting of some Ignite Paper on top of the pot, which creates a food-safe touch of fiery drama to the presentation.
There are a few key offerings here, including the weekday "Mysterious Lunch Set” from noon-2pm (B199/person), the set includes appetizers, noodles, baked goods, desserts, and drinks like herbal juices and Thai iced tea.
On weekends, the “Thai Little Market” lunch buffet runs from noon-2:30pm (B555/person). Dishes include classics like somtam (papaya salad), pad Thai, fried oysters, tom yum river prawn, and Thai desserts.
But the reinterpretation goes beyond food. The restaurant’s design draws inspiration from traditional Thai houses on stilts, reinterpreted with a modern, open-plan layout. The interior provides a cozy atmosphere for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and what’s better is that it’s just a few minutes walk away from BTS Phloen Chit, surrounded by the area’s mega-mall infrastructure, the recently opened Emsphere, and Benjasiri Park, making it a great launching pad to the rest of the city and its hotspots.
Naa at Maison Hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 2, 02-255-0040 or 02-255-0044. Open daily 7am-10pm.
