More Halloween dining deals to feast on
It isn't too late to get in on some spooky feasts with these dining and drink deals. Costumes optional.
The Mexican version of Halloween (or Dia de los Muertos) involves days of unlimited churros ($7.99) and unlimited margaritas ($24.99) from 7-10pm daily until Nov 7.
The Orchard Road hotel has concocted three special cocktails for this ghoulish occasion. All priced at $22, sip on The Third Eye, Black Dahlia or Brain Haemmorrhage. Plus, if you're dressed in your Halloween best, you get cocktails for $12 between 8-10pm.
The Kiwi-inspired bistro whips up a three-course set dinner ($42/person) from Oct 31-Nov 1 with dishes like Witch Potion, a pumpkin soup; Hanged Corpse, a roasted chicken with herbs and mashed potatoes; and Rotten Corpse, crayfish in squid ink spaghetti aglio olio.
The Spanish restaurant will be turned into a floating pumpkin of sorts serving up four ghostly dishes like cepe carpaccio with fresh chilled lobster; oxtail stewed in red wine; and pigeon rice with foie gras.
The rock'n'roll bar gets in on the spooky action with special crowd tipple the Dracula's Kiss ($160). Serving up to 20 glasses, this strong punch bowl is made with dark rum, red wine and Triple Sec.
The wine distributor hosts a Halloween-themed cellar door tasting of 30 different wines for $50. From 3-10pm, get yourself a ticket and walk through the space to taste all the different "everyday" wines on offer. If you need to leave in between for some nosh, they encourage you to come back after lunch or dinner.
A staple bar for the Orchard loving crowd, the place is going to be decked out in all shades of glowing red. There's a resident DJ playing for the night and, of course, their mandatory set of drink promos like shots and beers.
Champagne house Veuve Clicquot takes over the four-story Keong Saik building for "Yelloween". Starting at 9pm, come dressed in your best yellow Halloween costumes for a night of bubbly.
The Hannibal Lecter-themed degustation dinner ($168/person) takes cues from the famous cannibal serial killer. All nine courses are inspired by different quotes and, of course, body parts with dishes like roasted lamb tongue papillote with duxelles and oyster mushroom; and Andrew Caldwell blood sorbet with orange and raspberry.
The experimental upstairs space Bin 38 shakes up some spooky cocktails with canapes for the occasion. Tuck into five different concoctions with matching canapes like Twilight, a bourbon, orange water, grenadine and sweet vermouth cocktail and Death in the Afternoon made with absinthe and topped with champagne. For those who can't get a space, cocktails are available Oct 31-Nov 1 at $20 each.
