A neo-bistro style eatery on Sukhumvit Soi 26.
Found on Sukhumvit Soi 26, Chef Napol “Joe” Jantraget and Saki Hoshino—the brains behind Samlor, Nawa, Kwann, and the Michelin-star winning 80/20—have a new venue that explores local ingredients with innovative cooking.

While this crew are known for their mix of local and international, with 80/20 taking its name from the ratio of local ingredients to inspiration, this new space is taking things to a fresh direction with a neo-bistro style.

The venue itself is found in an 80-year-old wooden home renovated into a two-story glass house. The high windows let in warm light, and at night the greenery is artificially lit for a sort of city jungle vibe. The feature pieces of the surprisingly large interior are a long marble bar and artistic nods to the space’s previous owners. You can look across the entire venue easily but it doesn't feel loud.

BK tried their Verlan’s Shrimp Cocktail (B450) which came with jet black seaweed and wasabi sauce instead of the traditional red cocktail sauce. And the miso-cured barramundi (B580) came with a leek vinaigrette—tangy and crisp but not overly sour or dominant—and a delightfully crispy skin.

On the all a la carte menu, diners will find an international mix with the likes of chicken liver terrine (B450), duck leg confit (B580), and a pissaladière pasta. And while this might seem par for the course for these culinary creators, you’ll also find simple VFC, or Verlan Fried Chicken, made in a buttermilk batter, and steak frites (B880) in an umami jus and yeast aioli.

But the items to keep your eye on come under the specials, featuring the likes of the stir-fried clams in a white wine sauce and slow-roasted pork shoulder. A standout for BK was the Blue Crab on Toast (B250), a dish serving blue crab and capers with a yeast mayo on toasted brioche.

This space is also putting a special focus on their vino, boasting a wine list that hopes to promote lesser-known areas of France. On that note, this wine list is huge, with three pages just for champagne. It might be a little intimidating for some, but if you know what you want, they’ve got a little bit of everything.

With this space being a little more friendly for evening diners, they also have a cocktail menu, all priced at B400; as one might expect these are classic cocktails with an Asian twist—such as the Tamarind Sour that mixes tamarind and orange bitters to the classic whiskey sour.
