Good things are happening at the Mandarin Oriental hotel. This month, chef Arnaud Dunand Sauthier of two-Michelin-starred Le Normandie and his colleagues committed to providing a minimum of 700 meals per day—including the hotel's signature “Mandarin” fried rice—for the next two months to people in need.

Meals will be distributed by the Thai Red Cross Society to vulnerable people affected by the pandemic and to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, where Covid-19 cases are being treated.

Once the hotel reopens its restaurants around mid-June, a portion of the takings will be used to continue with the meal program.
