Keong Saik Road is getting the Indonesian food and nightlife mini-empire's first international outpost.

Thank the nightlife gods, Potato Head fans; your prayers are finally answered: Bali's Potato Head Beach Club (good food, good-looking crowd) and Jakarta's Potato Head Garage (a darling of top ten lists) will get Singaporean sibling Potato Head Folk on Keong Saik Road in June.

The new branch, taking over an entire four-storey shophouse, will have a similar focus: celebrity chefs and mixologists, live performances and a whole lot of ambience. We hear it's designed like a home, with four themed rooms (or floors) doing something different. Here's a glimpse (fully annotated with our live commentary, no less).

The ground floor will be the location of Three Buns, under the care of famed English chef Adam Penny of London eatery Patty & Bun. The burgers will all be homemade (we expect nothing less) and named after hip-hop songs (for some reason). British dessert pots from Pots & Co. will also make an appearance (we hope that includes their Lemon & Lime Posset). The extension upstairs will be a whimsically-styled living room, with bird and butterfly paintings (not too cute please) on turquoise walls and table service if you're looking to sit down and linger. This space also promises host a slew of local art performances and exhibitions (of course).

On the third floor is space for Studio 1939, a reservations-only bar inspired by Australian artist David Bromley's studio. Modern art will be showcased beside Chinese heritage pieces (of course again). On the menu are cocktails (better be good; we have quite a scene here already), wines, as well as small plates (what? no craft beer?).

We're excited about the alfresco garden space The Rooftop. It's meant to grow herbs, flowers and tropical plants and serve tiki cocktails (read: lotsa rum) created by bartender Dre Masso from London, responsible for drinks downstairs, too. After the opening, expect a series of Folk Gathering pop-up dinners with guests chefs from Singapore and abroad, plus other performances.

UPDATE: Potato Head Folk is now open at 36 Keong Saik Rd., 6327-1939.
