Named after a famed opera singer, Italian restaurant Caruso is now open at Bukit Timah.

Italian restaurant Caruso is now open at Bukit Timah, run by Leonardo Palmisano, an alum of Greenwood Italian-Brazilian restaurant Donna Carmela.

The establishment occupies a space that formerly housed Mediterranean tapas eatery Onion Restaurant & Bar, and is named after famed Southern Italian opera singer Enrico Caruso. The restaurant puts out traditional recipes like paccheri caruso ($22.50), pasta with prawns and zucchini, pizzas (from $19)—think margherita or prosciutto with mushrooms—and mains such as lamb chops with thyme and spinach ($29.50).

To close the meal, there are desserts like tiramisu ($12.50) as well as an all-Italian cheese platter for two ($28.50), featuring a rotating list of options such as smoked mozzarella.
