Behind the click: $2 promotions, all-you-can-eat contests and pop-up taco trucks.

Singapore is no stranger to Mexican food, but we can't help but notice the plethora of taco-themed parties and promotions lately. Here are a few of the more promising ones.

Taco Club x Dead Celebrities (Apr 2)

Alongside the opening of Kult art exhibition Dead Celebrities, pop-up Taco Club will be on-site serving up beer and three different types of tacos: pulled pork, slow-cooked beef and veggie-friendly smokey, spicy bean. Be warned: it's cash-only.

Super Loco Taco Challenge (Apr 8)

The second edition of this taco eating challenge recently moved from Lucha Loco to the brand's cool sister restaurant at Robertson Quay. To win, participants have to scarf 10 tacos and down two tequila shots. Seem easy? Not when these bad boys are brimming with meat. The champion wins a bucket of Dos Equis beer and $200 worth of dining vouchers.

Baja Fresh Launch (Apr 27)

The Mexican chain opens at The Sail on Apr 27 and will be giving away free burritos between 11:30-3pm. But on the menu are items like spicy chicken tacos and soft carnitas tacos, too.

Taco Tuesdays

Mexican restaurant Lower East Side has introduced taco Tuesdays where these pockets go for only $2. Happening between 6-8pm, get your hands on tacos like tilapia and chorizo tacos. Plus, the Fiesta Hour also sees one-for-one offers on draft beers, cinnamon-orange sangria and sparkling cava.
