[SPONSORED] Throw back a beer or two while you indulge in the offerings of sushi, sashimi, ramen and more at Clarke Quay's new gastrobar.

[SPONSORED] The newest kid on the block KURO Restaurant + Bar at Clarke Quay is all about Japanese favorites—as suggested by consultant chef Hide Yamamoto of namesake restaurant at Marina Bay Sands—Asian-inspired bar grub, and of course, good entertainment with music by local bands.

The 230-seater's menu is pretty extensive. You can expect fried, sinful stuff like prawn paste chicken wings ($15) and sambal prawns ($15) alongside a slew of Japanese light bites such as softshell crab sushi ($18) and kanpachi sashimi (yellowtail, $18). Feeling really hungry? Go for bigger bites like a bowl of tonkotsu ramen ($12).

The drink menu isn't too shabby either, with choices like Asahi beer on tap and Japanese whiskey labels including Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 21 Years ($20 by the glass) and Hibiki 12 Years ($15 by the glass).

Those into live music, you're in luck: look forward to local acts like four-man band Tabula and rock band Full Circle on the main stage.
