5 intriguing foodie events to sign up for in Singapore
Spanish fiestas, a dystopian theater dinner, a meat-centric pop-up dinner and more.
There's never a shortage of food-related events happening in this food-obsessed nation. Here are a few in the coming weeks that we like the look of.
Cool restaurant and lounge Kilo teams up with Hong Kong's Maximal Concepts for a pop-up takeover. Manning the kitchen are chefs Manel Valero of Kilo and Russell Doctrove of Maximal Concepts (who used to work at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay). Here, it's all about seven sharing plates of everything to do with fish and meat. Think pineapple-glazed lamb shoulder, marinated tuna with compressed watermelon and sea urchin with fresh squid ink linguine. After dinner, there's a party, too. Sep 9-10. $70.
This poolside restaurant doesn't feel like your typical, sterile hotel dining experience. This time, they've got two Michelin-starred chef Anthony Genovese in the restaurant dishing out a six-course menu of Italian classics like prawns with lemon and charred leek; calamari with ham spaghetti and cream of sea urchin, as well as tomato pork tortello in spicy meat sauce. Sep 29-Oct 2.
Alpine restaurant Zott's acts as the backdrop to this improvised love story. While we're not exactly sure how this pop-up theatrical dinner works, there's audience participation involved in choosing how the plot unfolds. Plus, it's an adults-only play, so expect some raunchy twists to happen. Nov 4-7 & 11-18. $160.
