The 11th annual Ospitalità Italiana Awards recognizes restaurants, pizzerias and gelaterias that go to painstaking lengths to keep everything authentically Italian

Last Monday, Nov 4, The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce hosted its 11th annual Ospitalità Italiana Awards, with the goal of “honoring authentic Italian restaurants, pizzerias, and gelaterias dedicated to upholding Italy’s rich culinary heritage and commitment to traditional practices.” In other words, this is a stamp that a venue is the real deal in terms of their Italian food and strictly follows “Made in Italy” practices where possible.

The awards were announced at a gala event at The Crystal Box in Gaysorn Tower and saw a whopping 600 guests attend, many of them from Bangkok’s Italian community or members of TICC. The event was also a showcase of sorts for Italian brands and restaurants in Bangkok, including chefs whipping up wood fired pizzas, fresh pastas, and flowing wine for the entire event.

There was also a special tiramisu competition, which saw Jeriko Van Der Wolf of Bianca winning the creative tiramisu category and Yodying Phoomcharoom of Hybrid winning best overall traditional tiramisu.
