Located at the lobby of Pan Pacific Orchard, 10 at Claymore serves up A Time to Feast (from $72-118 per person), a special festive menu of a la carte buffet treats. Load up on the chargrilled 1855 US premium black angus, Chardonnay poached cod, pure South lamb rack and pan-seared gourmet foie gras with plum confit. If you want variety, try local favorites like executive chef Andy Oh’s award-winning Peddler’s Famous Char Kway Teow and Spicy King Prawn Noodle Soup.
For a more casual meal that is available all-day, head on over to this famed Parisian outpost. The tearoom's 3-Course Set (from $60 per person) offers diners choices ranging from chestnut and Madeira veloute, roasted chestnuts with Madeira-infused chicken broth (first course) to walnut crusted halibut with fennel, citrus and hot and sour trout roe vinaigrette (second course). There will also be dessert, although the selection depends on the day.
A dining instituiton of HongKong Street, this mod-European restaurant is offering a progressive take on Christmas classics. If the typical roast turkey just won't fly, there's the glazed turkey breast with nutmeg and white chocolate puree, and other modern plates like the beetroot tartare and Hokkaido scallops.
More upscale French offerings can be found at Balzac's new space within the Singapore Pinacotheque de Paris. Under the direction of chef Jean Charles Dubois, this year's festive menu (from $98 per person) includes plates of Saint-Jacque et brioche, carpaccio of Hokkaido scallop with homemade Tarama and ikura caviar; poulet francais en cocotte, a dish for two comprising chicken cooked in a cocotte with bacon, baby potatoes, onions and white button mushroom and desserts like Moelleux, with chocolate fondant gateau and Tahitian vanilla ice cream.
The casual-dining veteran is whipping up a couple of special menus for the holidays, starting with the Christmas Eve Set Lunch (from $19.90 per person), which has mains like grilled barramundi with gratinated scallop and mango Thai chili sauce. For the Christmas Eve Set Dinner, highlights include the marinated grilled turkey, slipper lobster and chicken roulade (from $39.80 per person) and the NZ tenderloin with softshell crab (from $39.80 per person). Pop down on Christmas, and you can tuck into Hoisin lamb rack and grilled Cajun turkey with butter raisin rice, NZ ribeye steak with tempura prawn and grilled barramundi fillet with crispy silver fish, all part of the Christmas Day Set Lunch (from $25.80 per adult). This Spanish restaurant is offering an unpretentious and rustic Christmas Eve menu with a-la-carte tapas, mains and desserts like croquette of suckling pig, grilled farm venison loin and the crowd favorite, churros with chocolate sauce. There’s a communal table which can sit up to 20 guests, so call all your friends down.
For premium meats, look no further than the long-established Lawry's — for New Year's Eve, the prime ribs stalwart will be serving up a five-course New Year’s Eve Candlelight Dinner (from $139 per person) with calamansi lobster sashimi amuse bouche; a choice of the Signature roasted prime rib of beef; the Surf and Turf, 100gm of seared and braised US prime beef tenderloin with Cajun-spiced Tiger prawn or Ocean Symphony, with Atlantic cod crusted with garlic and truffle, crab salsa and Fukuyama scallops. In addition to its signature fusion of Asian and Western spreads, the eco-chic hotel's fancy buffet restaurant is whipping up special Festive Buffet Lunch and Dinner (from $68-78 per person). There are classic Christmas must-haves like roasted whole turkey with chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce and giblet sauce; honey baked ham with apple sauce and the traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. To make it extra festive, you will be served with a mulled wine complete with sultanas and blanched almonds.
Treat yourself to a gastronomic dinner at one of Singapore's classiest heritage hotels. Raffles Grill is presenting two different menus for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but the one worth splurging on is the five-course Christmas Eve Dinner Set Menu (from $98 per person). The dinner kicks off with Gillardeau oysters served with lettuce and fennel, and topped with Oscietra caviar, before moving on to other items like the ravioli stuffed with langoustine and ceps in poulette sauce and white truffle garnish.
To ring in the holiday season, AquaMarine, the hotel’s buffet restaurant, is offering a special spread of roasted turkey with orange and cinnamon, prime rib of beef with cream porcini and pan-seared Hokkaido scallops with cauliflower espuma. From $98 per person for lunch, to $108 per person for dinner.
The Snais, Me@OUE
Eschewing a typical festive spread, dine on a five-course Japanese meal prepared by Japanese-French-Chinese fine dining restaurant and lounge Me@OUE. The Christmas menu (from $175 per person) features fresh items like a sashimi omakase, foie gras terrine, baked black cod, roasted duck and buche de Noel, a mini log cake with caramel tulip Amarena ice-cream. For New Year, diners can choose between a four-course (from $145 per person) or seven-course (from $295 per person) meal with pan-seared foie gras, an escargot platter and mains like baby pomfret and roasted pigeon.
Chef Emmanuel Stroobant, known for his French molecular creations, has designed a special menu for the festive season. You can choose from the restaurant’s Christmas Eve Dinner menu (from $188 per person) and Christmas Lunch Roast (from $98 per person) which features 10 and nine degustation courses respectively. Aesthetically-driven highlights include caille au choux vert, with organic green cabbage, quail breast, salted bacon, truffle and wild mushroom emulsion and Stilton et betterraves, with beetroot, pear, Stilton, pine nut salad and apple balsamic dressing.
For a classic Christmas dinner, head right down to this homely European outfit. Just for the holidays, you can tuck into hearty a-la-carte dishes like the guinea fowl and the roast turkey, or if you want something familiar, then order the restaurant's regular hits like the suckling pig, cote de beaof and roast beef, with desserts like the traditional log cake. These are available for takeaways too, if you’re planning a party at home instead. Do call ahead for availability if you're ordering a full portion of the suckling pig and other poultry.
