10 at Claymore at Pan Pacific Orchard

Located at the lobby of Pan Pacific Orchard, 10 at Claymore serves up A Time to Feast (from $72-118 per person), a special festive menu of a la carte buffet treats. Load up on the chargrilled 1855 US premium black angus, Chardonnay poached cod, pure South lamb rack and pan-seared gourmet foie gras with plum confit. If you want variety, try local favorites like executive chef Andy Oh’s award-winning Peddler’s Famous Char Kway Teow and Spicy King Prawn Noodle Soup.

Angelina

For a more casual meal that is available all-day, head on over to this famed Parisian outpost. The tearoom's  3-Course Set (from $60 per person) offers diners choices ranging from chestnut and Madeira veloute, roasted chestnuts with Madeira-infused chicken broth (first course) to walnut crusted halibut with fennel, citrus and hot and sour trout roe vinaigrette (second course). There will also be dessert, although the selection depends on the day.

Bacchanalia

A dining instituiton of HongKong Street, this mod-European restaurant is offering a progressive take on Christmas classics. If the typical roast turkey just won't fly, there's the glazed turkey breast with nutmeg and white chocolate puree, and other modern plates like the beetroot tartare and Hokkaido scallops.

Balzac Brasserie and Bar

More upscale French offerings can be found at Balzac's new space within the Singapore Pinacotheque de Paris. Under the direction of chef Jean Charles Dubois, this year's festive menu (from $98 per person) includes plates of Saint-Jacque et brioche, carpaccio of Hokkaido scallop with homemade Tarama and ikura caviar; poulet francais en cocotte, a dish for two comprising chicken cooked in a cocotte with bacon, baby potatoes, onions and white button mushroom and desserts like Moelleux, with chocolate fondant gateau and Tahitian vanilla ice cream.

For New Year, diners can choose between a four-course (from $145 per person) or seven-course (from $295 per person) meal with pan-seared foie gras, an escargot platter and mains like baby pomfret and roasted pigeon.

You can choose from the restaurant’s Christmas Eve Dinner menu (from $188 per person) and Christmas Lunch Roast (from $98 per person)  which features 10 and nine degustation courses respectively. Aesthetically-driven highlights include caille au choux vert, with organic green cabbage, quail breast, salted bacon, truffle and wild mushroom emulsion and Stilton et betterraves, with beetroot, pear, Stilton, pine nut salad and apple balsamic dressing.

Shelter in the Woods

For a classic Christmas dinner, head right down to this homely European outfit. Just for the holidays, you can tuck into hearty a-la-carte dishes like the guinea fowl and the roast turkey, or if you want something familiar, then order the restaurant's regular hits like the suckling pig, cote de beaof and roast beef, with desserts like the traditional log cake. These are available for takeaways too, if you’re planning a party at home instead. Do call ahead for availability if you're ordering a full portion of the suckling pig and other poultry.
