Three drinks events to enjoy this December
Get a bit of pre-Christmas cheer with these three different booze-focused events
Who knew that India produced its own wine? Well, apparently, they do with their Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz varieties even winning awards. If that's piqued your interest, Buyan and Saha host a blind wine tasting event where you'll get to sample some Indian wines and compare them to their European cousins. This is followed by a wine pairing dinner at Saha full of gastronomic Indian reinterpretations.
Something a little more familiar to most of us are Aussie wines. Barossa Valley vineyard Kies Family Wines teams up with Merchants for the last dinner of 2014. The Kies family will also be bringing over five kilos of fresh Kangaroo especially for the five-course dinner. They'll also be serving bottles of sparkling Merlot (another wine that's rare) and a 94-point Shiraz.
The final event in this boozy round up is all about the cocktails. Bacchanalia's libation education nights include an interactive workshop and pairing dinner courtesy of the Bacchanalia kitchens and the boys of Proof & Co. Learn about the history of cocktails and try your hand at slingling a few yourself.
