International brands are not the only ones readying their pre-fall collections. Our Thai designers are hitting the runway early, too.

In the Grid

Inspired by the romantic side of London, Disaya’s pre-fall collection, Disaya Square, is defined by both elegance and practicality. Picking up where she left off from the Beatles-inspired spring/summer collection, the focus is on prints inspired by the city grid. The style is still minimalist, featuring items like tartan crop tops, denim colorblock dresses and longline blazers and organza jumpsuits and playsuits. With the image of a chic Londoner walking her dog in Hyde Park in mind, Disaya creates oversized accessories, using pearls and rainbow pearls to mimic a poodle on its leash in the form of earrings, necklaces, bangles and collar pins. 2/F, Central World, Rama 1 Rd., 02-646-1828, BTS Siam

Back to the Future

Something Boudoir combines 1950s American diner with outer space in its Stardiner collection, in tones of metallic, pastel and neon. Our favorite items include neon-colored crop tops with metallic straps, metallic high-waisted shorts, metallic A-line skirts and vinyl-record-print jumpsuits. For an even more retro look, go for the fleece jersey jacket with matching mini skirt. Complete your outfit with accessories like metallic tote bags, spaceship circle wristlets, french-fries wristlets and metallic platform loafers. 3/F, Central Embassy, Ploenchit Rd., 02-160-5647, BTS Ploen Chit

Into the Wild

Embracing the rainy season, Greyhound’s pre-fall collection, Hike and Seek, takes us on an adventure in the rainforest through images of raindrops, palm leaves and hiding animals. The colors of this collection range from blue green to dark blue, along with the brand’s signature colors of white, gray and black. Taking a break from the avant-garde hippie look of their spring/ summer collection, this season features military jackets, rain coats with hiding animal prints and matching palm leaves-print jackets and trousers for men. Highlight in women’s wear include two-toned raindropprint blazers, crepe coats and light ponchos. In the accessories department, the spotlight goes to Hike and Seek Clutch (B1,795) with its hiding-animal print. Half of the revenue from this bag will be donated to Wildlife Fund Thailand. 3/F, Siam Center, Rama 1 Rd., 02-252-3861, BTS Siam

Tags and Tennis

Playhound and its sub-brand Play Too roll out contrasting pre-fall looks. In collaboration with hot new graphic designer Thanachai Teeradakorn, Playhound draws inspiration from the children and street art of New York. The collection features colorful sportswear, like blouses with inflated sleeves, leggings and sweaters for girls and short-sleeve shirts, straight-leg trousers and sweatshirts for boys. As for Play Too, the collection rewinds time to the tennis uniform of the 70s, with pleated miniskirts, polo shirts with oversized-collars and polo dresses with ruffle-trimmed collars. The main print of the collection is that of the classic wooden tennis racquet, while the palette sees the juxtaposition of black and navy blue, with cream, mint green and hot pink. 1/F, Siam Paragon, Rama 1 Rd., 02-610-7894, BTS Siam
