Head of cult Danish beer brewery Mikkeller in Singapore on October 18 and 19
Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, founder of craft beer microbrewery Mikkeller, will be in town for three events with The Great Beer Experiment.
You loved the beers—now meet their maker. Cult Danish craft beer brewer Mikkeller's head honcho Mikkel Borg Bjergsø will be in town for a not-so-ordinary whirlwind tour together with beer shop The Great Beer Experiment.
The beer fest starts with Makan with Mikkeller (October 18, 7:30pm), a food and beer pairing dinner where Singapore-inspired dishes are paired with a selection of Mikkeller craft brews. The location is a secret and will only be revealed upon registration ($65).
Then it's a healthy start to the following day with No Sweat, No Beer! (October 19, 9:50am), a gentle one-hour trek through the Bukit Timah wilderness. Participants meet at the bus stop outside Mayfair Gardens (2 Rifle Range Rd.) opposite King Albert Park for a ride on Beer Truck to the start of the trail. The event is free and open to all; just text 9385-1752 before 9am to confirm attendance.
After the walk, adjourn to The Great Beer Experiment for Meet the Gypsy, Eat His Dogs (October 19, 12:30pm), a casual day drinking session with Mikkel. Obviously, there will be Mikkeller beers on tap, plus sausages to go with. All are welcome.
