New Japanese restaurant Tamashii Robataya serves robatayaki specialities.

Japanese restaurant Tamashii Robataya is now open at North Canal Road (in the same building as Latin eatery Sur and gym Ritual) serving robatayaki specialities.

Run by Patrick Tan (formerly of Yoyogi), his wife Nicole and their business partner Max See, the dining spot offers $88, $128 and $168 dinner courses as well as ala carte items such as deep fried chicken cartilage ($15), grilled skewers (from $5)—think chicken soft bone or bacon with tomato—as well as rice bowls topped with Japanese king crab ($45). Light desserts like umeshu jelly ($6) round out the menu.

To drink, they currently offer a concise selection of sake (from $30), shochu ($88), Japanese whisky ($108) and wine (from $68). But they plan to release a new drinks list at the end of the month.
