We’ve lost track of how many times we’ve cheerfully enthused about the upcoming high-speed railway links to be built in Thailand at some distant date in the future. But trust us, this time it’s never sounded so real, or so near. As part of its B2 trillion infrastructure project, the government is kicking off its four high-speed links with the Bangkok-Pattaya route, to be completed in 2015—three years earlier than originally announced. The train would run at some 250 kilometers per hour, putting Sin City within reach in 30 minutes. You could be drugged by a ladyboy for lunch and still be back home for dinner!
